Made Marian Reading Order By Year
Determining reading order within a series isn’t an exact science because some of these stories actually fall during the timeline of another story, or they can be placed in multiple spots because there’s nothing in the story to indicate when, exactly, they happen.
There’s also a difference between true chronological order and suggested reading order. For instance, “Waking Up In Vegas” takes place chronologically before “Poker Face,” but it doesn’t make sense if you actually read it first.
Because I started writing Borrowing Blue in 2016, I’ve always used it as the year the book takes place. The problem with that is that the passage of time in all the other stories brings us well past current day. To give you some benchmarks for the time in this world, Borrowing Blue starts in August of 2016, Facing West starts in September of 2019, and King Me starts in December 2021.
